Obesity is a leading risk factor for chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Generic weight management programs that target dietary intake and physical activity have been shown to be ineffective in maintaining weight loss beyond a 6-month period. Personalizing weight management programs produces more weight loss than generic programs, possibly through improved self-efficacy (confidence in one's ability to control weight through behavior). One way to personalize diet goals for individuals is by resting metabolic rate (RMR; 'metabolism'). This study will explore adherence and satisfaction of 6-weeks repeated at-home measures of metabolism using a portable device in healthy adults with and without obesity. Relationships among adherence and satisfaction outcomes to health behavior variables will be explored using dietary recalls, exercise monitors and questionnaires. Investigators will conduct a 6-week, one-arm feasibility study in order to address these questions. Twenty men and women ages 19-65 will be recruited (up to n=25 participants), among which 10 participants will have a body mass index (BMI) of ≥30kg/m2 (classified as having obesity), and the remaining 10 participants will have a body mass index (BMI) of \< 29.9kg/m2 (classified as not having obesity). The baseline study visit will evaluate participant's anthropometric measures, RMR using the ParvoMedics TrueOne 2400 and Breezing indirect calorimeters, psychological and behavioural related parameters. An activPAL device will be provided to measure participant physical activity. Completion of a 3-day diet record following the baseline study visit, in which participants keep a record of all food and beverages consumed over 2 weekdays and 1 weekend, is required. Participants will be asked to use the Breezing device from home to measure their RMR one time/week on the same day of the week (± one day) and at the same time each morning for six consecutive weeks following the baseline visit. A weekly Qualtrics survey will be sent to participants to monitor adherence. A follow-up visit after the six weeks will assess participant's body composition using a Dual X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA), in addition to completion of a user satisfaction interview with a study team member for descriptive analysis. The measures taken at the baseline study visit will be repeated at the follow-up visit.

19 - 65This phase 1 study will include patients suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus and will study their response to enteric coated aspirin at a dose of 80 mg per day for a 7-day period. The aims are to determine the feasibility of a phase 2 larger scale trial, and to characterize the prevalence of incomplete platelet inhibition after exposure to EC aspirin at doses of 80 mg once daily. Platelet function will be assessed at baseline and a day 7.

Over 19The objective of this study is to determine whether early video capsule endoscopy (VCE) immediately after a negative gastroscopy in the setting of suspected upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) improves patient outcomes as compared to the standard approach which typically involves performing colonoscopy prior to small bowel investigations. We aim to examine the differences in diagnostic yield, total number of procedures, length of hospitalization, mortality rates, and healthcare cost between the two groups.

18 - 90The Dyn@mo lifestyle intervention (CHU Sainte-Justine, Quebec, Canada) targets children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years old with cardiometabolic risk factors, such as obesity, hypertension, disorders in glucose regulation or dyslipidemia. Its primary goal is to promote physical activity and reduce sedentary time to improve childrens' cardiometabolic profile. To do so, the intervention relies on gathering data on mobility and physical activity using wearable sensors. These data provide a detailed picture of real-life conditions and physical activity levels, improving the health care professional's ability to tailor counseling. The investigators are presently in the implementation phase of this intervention.

6 - 1810 participants with upper-limb impairment will be recruited from community sources. They will be invited to participate in a 15-day trial involving the IRegained device. The study will involve 2 assessment visits to McMaster, before and after the treatment, and 15 treatment visits. The data from the pilot study will be analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively, as outcomes and explicit feedback from participants will be used to further optimize the device for future studies.

18 - 100Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are generally slow growing, but some can be aggressive and resistant to treatment. Compared to healthy cells, the surface of these tumor cells has a greater number of special molecules called somatostatin receptors (SSTR). Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy and conventional imaging are used to detect NETs. This study proposes 68Gallium(68Ga)-DOTATOC positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is superior to current imaging techniques. The goal is to evaluate the safety and sensitivity of 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT at detecting NETs and other tumors with over-expression of somatostatin receptors.

18 - 100The NACTN Spinal Cord Injury Registry is a network of clinical centers collecting de-identified data from patients admitted through the Emergency Department of a NACTN center at the time of injury with an initial (first time) spinal cord injury (SCI). Information will be collected on the natural history of SCI and course of treatment through the first 12 months from the date of injury or long as medically indicated. Data collected includes imaging information from CT or MRI scans, neurological and general medical outcome and rehabilitation evaluation. No intervention is given other than standard of care for spinal cord injury, intensive monitoring and frequent follow up care.
