Estimating Foot Bone Motion during Running with Weight Bearing Computed Tomography
The foot is a highly complex structure that is formed of 26 bones. As such, it is virtually impossible to track the movement of each bone with the typical gold standard technique of motion capture routinely used in the field. The purpose of this research is to combine medical imaging of the foot with motion capture to create better estimates of how the foot bones move during running. This information will allow researchers to create more accurate estimates of foot bone overuse injuries such as metatarsal stress fracture.

Eligible Ages:
18 to 60
Participation Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
We are looking for:
1) Recreational runners, aged 18 years and above
2) Run a minimum of 10km per week
3) No history of foot injuries in the past year
4) No lower-limb injuries within the past 6 months
Exclusion Criteria:
1) Prospective participants who are pregnant, think they may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding are not eligible to participate in this research.
