Wichitasowin: Indigenous Patient Navigator for Young Adults Study

We hope to help Indigenous young adults (age 16-25) and their families living in Maskwacis, Alberta with long-term health conditions manage their health. Our research study entails offering individualized support from an Indigenous Patient Navigator.   • Eligible Ages:

    16 to 25

Participation Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:
Young adults:
1) age 16-25 years;
2) having a long-term health condition (at least 3 months' duration)
3) living in Maskwacis and Pigeon Lake, Alberta or from one of the 4 Nations of Maskwacis, but currently residing elsewhere;
4) self-identified as an Indigenous person;
5) reading level ≥ grade 6. For participants with developmental or intellectual delay (< grade 6 reading level), they may take part in the program alongside their caregiver(s).
