The Effects of Technologically Advanced Running Shoes on Lower Extremity Joint Contact Forces in Trained Female Runners
Running in “supershoes” can help people run faster, but we don’t fully know how they affect the body. This study will look at how these shoes and different running speeds change the stress on the knees and hips in women. What we learn could help make running shoes safer and better designed for female runners.

Critères de participation
Inclusion Criteria:
We are looking for:
1) Recreational female runners, aged 18-45 years of age
2) Shoe size US 8
3) Within the previous 12 months, have completed one of the following: a half marathon in under 1 hour 52 min, a 10-km marathon in under 49 min, or a 5-km marathon in under 23 min
4) No prior history of foot injury requiring surgery
5) No lower-limb injuries within the past 6 months
6) Able to read and write in English and provide informed consent
Exclusion Criteria:
1) Prospective participants who are pregnant are not eligible to participate in this research.
