Walking in wet pads: the influence on gait on walking in a soaked continence containment product in older women

Women with accidental loss of urine (incontinence) are at an increased risk of falling compared to continent women. While we know some of the reasons for this, we don't know if walking with a wet pad on increases this risk. This study, using wearable walking monitors will attempt to se if walking patterns change when wearing either a wet or dry pad, compared to normal walking

Participation Requirements

  • Sex:

    Female
  • Eligible Ages:

    18 and up

Participation Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:
All women of 18 years of age and above who do not use a walking aid for normal walking can take part. You dont have to have incontinence to take part
Exclusion Criteria:
Women who use walking aids for usual walking and women with memory problems bad enough not to understand the study arent able to take part
