Markerless Motion Capture for Pediatric Populations

The PONI lab is investigating how a new markerless motion capture system measures how pediatric populations walk.

Motion capture is an important tool for informing the clinical care of children with Cerebral Palsy and other mobility impairments. The standard motion capture system in most labs is a marker-based system. This system requires small reflective markers to be attached to the participant's joints (similar to how animated movies and video games are made). This can be time-consuming, so we are interested in understanding how a new system that does not require the use of markers works.

Participants will be asked to walk back and forth with both the marker-based and markerless systems recording them walk. Participants will be asked to wear shorts and a t-shirt.

    Male, Female, Intersex
  • Âges admissibles:

    3 to 18

Critères de participation

Inclusion Criteria:
- between the ages of 3 and 18 years of age
- self-identify as typically developing
- willing to participate
Exclusion Criteria:
- had an orthopedic injury impacting the lower body in the last 6 months
- any diagnosis of a neuromotor or mobility impairments that impacts walking ability
