ARDS In Children and ECMO Impact on Neurodevelopment

Patients with severe respiratory failure who are placed on ECMO (extracorporeal life support) will be followed to determine survival and neurologic outcome at one year later, and whether these outcomes are different from a matched group of children not placed on ECMO.

Critères de participation

Inclusion Criteria:
Children with severe respiratory failure who have been placed on ECMO (extracorporeal life support).
Exclusion Criteria:
Exclusions include the newly born, those with chronic lung disease, those with heart disease, and those prone to bleeding when on ECMO.
