The objective is to assess refractive accuracy of the Alcon Vision Suite (with Argos biometer) following Clareon PanOptix and AcrySof Vivity IOL implantation.

To evaluate the percentage of subjects with AKI within 7 days following on-pump cardiac surgery defined by the KDIGO (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes) criteria: 1. Increase in baseline (pre-surgery) serum creatinine (SCr) by ≥26.5 μmol/L (≥0.3 mg/dL) within 7 days; OR 2. Increase in baseline SCr to ≥1.5 times baseline, which is known or presumed to have occurred within the first 7 days following surgery; OR 3. Urine output \< 0.5 mL/kg/h for \>6 hours.

Tourniquet inflation during total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is commonly used to reduce bleeding in the surgical field; thereby facilitating exposure and cementation. However, reducing circulation to the leg may also reduce antibiotic distribution to the peri-incisional tissues. Once inflated, further parenteral addition of antibiotics is not likely to achieve peak concentration. Some studies propose techniques of regional prophylaxis with a tourniquet to achieve higher cefazolin tissue concentrations. To our knowledge, the effect of tourniquet application on antibiotic tissue concentrations during total knee arthroplasty has not been explored. Furthermore, the effect of time from dose to incision, participants weight, and length of surgery on local tissue concentrations of Ancef are poorly understood. Considering that infections remain the leading source of early reoperation and revision surgery, insight and optimization of local tissue antibiotics is of paramount interest.

Maitake is an edible mushroom that is used for both its nutritional and medicinal properties. Human and animal studies have shown Maitake may help improve immune function; however, its effectiveness in people with cancer is not clear. The investigators aim to measure if Maitake has any immunomodulatory effects when given alongside conventional systemic cancer therapy.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 12-months of individualized endurance-training (swimming, cycling and running) on physiological and psychological adaptations in exercise naïve individuals. Due to the potential seasonal changes that naturally occur in individuals across a year (even without training) the investigators will also compare the exercise-trained group to a time-aligned control group.

This study involves patients who are scheduled for standard care brachytherapy of focal tumours within the prostate, which is normally performed under standard 2-dimensional (2D) ultrasound guidance. The purpose of this study is the acquire power Doppler ultrasound while using a simple oscillator in physical contact with the end of a brachytherapy needle. The vibrations along the needle should be visible in the power Doppler ultrasound, helping to visualize the needle position within the anatomy.

Background \& Rationale: Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread pain, fatigue, mood and anxiety as well as cognitive complaints. For an unacceptable proportion of patients, depressive symptoms remain impairing despite multiple treatments. For such patients, novel treatments include non-invasive brain stimulation. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) targeting the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) or the primary motor cortex (M1) is the non-invasive neurostimulation method with the largest evidence base in fibromyalgia. It involves generating magnetic fields outside of the body to change the firing of neurons in the brain, and has a very favorable tolerability profile. Recent meta-analyses indicate that both the DLPFC and M1 targets are associated with improvements in pain, mood and anxiety, however the benefits are more persistent when the DLPFC is targeted (Su et al, 2021 - J Clin Med). The DLPFC is important in fibromyalgia through its implication in several symptoms domains in fibromyalgia, as well as pain catastrophization. The researchers neurophysiological data and clinical data in depression suggests that the researchers can enhance the effects of TMS by using an adjunctive medication called D-Cycloserine (DCS, 100mg) in conjunction with a protocol called intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS). Specifically, this data indicated that several converging features of fibromyalgia improve with augmented iTBS, specifically depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, fatigue, and cognitive function. The researchers therefore hypothesize that the combination of D-cycloserine and TMS will lead to greater improvements in fibromyalgia symptoms than TMS alone. Although iTBS has not yet been studied in fibromyalgia, it has a well characterized neurophysiological effect and been shown to be non-inferior to conventional TMS protocols in conditions such as depression. More importantly, its physiological basis can be manipulated with D-Cycloserine whereas this has not been convincingly demonstrated with rTMS (see Brown et al, 2019, 2021 Brain Stim). Research Question and Objectives: To conduct a randomized placebo-controlled trial of DCS in adjunct with rTMS in Fibromyalgia. Participants will be randomized to receive 100mg of DCS or placebo together with TMS.

The study intervention is DBT adapted for youth with and/or at familial risk for bipolar disorder. Participants will have completed one full year of DBT in a previous study. This study is examining use of booster sessions. It is delivered in the form of individual sessions and skills sessions, based on the preference of the study participant. The study participant may also receive skills coaching via phone. There is no standard reference therapy/comparator against which the study intervention is being compared.

The main objective of this multi-site project is to compare the effects of 12 weeks of HIIT vs. MICT on brain plasticity. The effects of HIIT vs. MICT on cardiovascular health, psychosocial predictors of physical activity and motor function will also be compared. HIIT and MICT will be delivered through a whole-body exercise paradigm using a recumbent stepper that requires arm and leg forces. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline (T0, 0 weeks), at the end of the intervention (T1, 12 weeks) and at 8-week follow-up (T2, 20 weeks).

The purpose of this study is to better understand what happens in the brain during the dying process. This is a prospective observational study conducted at the end of life in the ICU at VGH. At the time of withdrawal of life sustaining therapies the investigators will monitor brain blood flow and oxygenation. The investigators will also collect blood samples to measure biomarkers of brain dysfunction. This may help us to determine when blood flow to the brain stops and when brain function ceases. This information may provide researchers and the medical community as a whole with important information as to the best timing for organ donation. This study is the first step in commencing a research program related to improving the organ donation process. Our goal is to determine how best to provide high quality organs to those who would otherwise die without an organ transplant.
