Research shows that scoliosis-specific exercises can improve pain & quality of life. Delivery of Schroth exercises via online methods has not been studied. Adolescents with Adolescent/Juvenile Idiopathic Scoliosis will be recruited. Participants will be randomized to the Schroth Scoliosis specific online exercise group or the control group. The control group has the opportunity to switch over to the exercise group after 6 months. The 6-month Schroth program consists of 10 sessions: 6 1-hr long initial online training sessions over 2-3 weeks, followed by 45-min.-long follow-ups via videoconference. 3D Ultrasound imaging of the spine will help measure curve angles/vertebra rotation; Surface Topography will help assess cosmetic changes.

We are studying the effect of a mind-body treatment for people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) after COVID-19 infection. We will compare to people who got ME/CFS another way. ME/CFS affects things like the nervous system, immune system, and metabolism. We think central sensitization might make the symptoms worse. Central sensitization is when nerves get too excited. Our team is studying a treatment to improve things like quality of life, fatigue, pain, and brain function. We will also study some outcomes related to body chemistry. Our team recognizes that ME/CFS and Long COVID are serious, debilitating, biomedical conditions.

Atogepant has been approved to treat episodic migraine in adults by Health Canada but has not been studied or approved in children. The purpose of this study is to see if atogepant is effective and safe for the treatment of episodic migraine in children. This research study plans to include 450 participants with episodic migraine. Participants will receive one of 3 treatments: low dose atogepant, high dose atogepant, or placebo. The study medication is given as a pill that is taken daily. Participants and the study doctor will not know whether they are receiving atogepant or placebo. Participants will track their headaches in an eDiary. There will be 7 visits in total and these will include questionnaires, bloodwork, and ECG.

COPD is a condition characterized by airway obstruction. Patients with COPD experience shortness of breath on exertion and an exaggerated breathing response to exercise. Recently, we have shown that inhaled nitric oxide, a potent dilator of pulmonary blood vessels, reduces shortness of breath and improves exercise capacity in mild COPD. This preliminary finding suggests that pulmonary vascular dysfunction is an important contributor to exercise intolerance in mild COPD. Here, we aim to test whether sildenafil, an oral pulmonary vasodilator, can improve exercise tolerance and shortness of breath in mild COPD.

The ketogenic diet (KETO) is popular for weight loss and is gaining interest as a treatment for type 2 diabetes (T2D) because it is believed to help manage blood glucose and weight. However, KETO is often high in saturated fats (SFA), which may increase cholesterol and other cardiovascular (CVD) risk factors, such as inflammatory profile. Substituting a heart-healthy oil for SFA may improve these outcomes. The purpose of our study is to investigate the health beneficial effects of a healthy KETO diet supplemented with Canola oil, compared to a traditional Keto Diet and low-fat diet in adults at high risk of type 2 diabetes. Participants will be randomized to one of these three diets and will receive nutrition counselling during 6 months.

Women with accidental loss of urine (incontinence) are at an increased risk of falling compared to continent women. While we know some of the reasons for this, we don't know if walking with a wet pad on increases this risk. This study, using wearable walking monitors will attempt to se if walking patterns change when wearing either a wet or dry pad, compared to normal walking

Patients who have had an organ transplant take medications that weaken their body's immune system. Because of these medications, they tend to have weaker responses to vaccines. We are looking to see if patients who have had an organ transplant have a weaker response and are less protected by the new COVID-19 vaccines. This a Canada-wide study that is looking to recruit healthy children and solid organ transplant patients who have just received or are going to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

In this randomized study comparing either fecal transplant or placebo, ulcerative colitis (UC) patients who are about to start either Entyvio or Stelara will receive treatments by oral pills for 8 weeks to see if fecal transplant may be lead to remission faster without any safety concern. Participants will be followed up to 24 weeks in duration. Several questionnaires will also be administered. Samples, including blood, stool and colonic biopsies will also be collected so the researchers can study the effects of fecal transplant on patients to better understand how microbiome plays a role. This is the first study which combines a biologic with fecal transplant in UC.

This study looks at how to help families plan for healthier pregnancies and then helps them carry healthy changes into early childhood. Families will be randomly assigned to work with a Trial Nurse or be in a control group. Families will complete questionnaires online, meet with the Trial Nurse online or on the phone, and visit the study clinics about once/year to have height, weight and blood pressure measured This study will help us understand how to help families plan for healthier pregnancies and will help researchers and health care workers see how people adopt and continue healthy behaviours, such as eating healthy or being more active, when they are in this phase of their lives.
