Platelet Activation and Glucose Transporters in Preeclampsia
Pre-eclampsia | Gestational HypertensionWe are looking at activation of platelets (clotting factors in the blood) in women with pre-eclampsia or at risk of pre-eclampsia and comparing them to healthy pregnant controls.
We are recruiting pregnant women who either have a low or high risk pre-eclampsia screen in the first trimester (between 11-14 weeks gestation), have a prior history of pre-eclampsia, have gestational hypertension or have been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia in this pregnancy

Eligible Ages:
18 to 45
Participation Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
1) 18 years of age or older and currently pregnant
2) Speak and understand English
3) Able to attend additional assessment appointments and participate in blood draws
Exclusion Criteria:
1) Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, renal disease, cardiovascular disease, low platelets or clotting disorder
2) Receiving injectable blood thinners- either for a past clot or a current clot
